Integrative Pediatric Consultation (IPC)

With Dr. Joy Eberhardt at Affinity Group.

Many children may appear to be thriving—socially, emotionally, and academically – yet parents still wonder:  “Is my child truly reaching their full potential?”

Traditionally, access to pediatric referrals has been limited to those made by family physicians and typically reserved for children with diagnosed neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or ADHD.

However, more and more parents are seeking a proactive, preventative, and holistic approach to ensure their children are growing and developing optimally. At Affinity, we are passionate about early intervention and whole-child wellness.  That’s why we’re proud to offer our Integrative Pediatric Consultation (IPC) – a comprehensive, 3 hour assessment for families who want in-depth assessment of their child’s current physical health, emotional well-being, behaviour, development, learning, and lifestyle. Fee $1500.

The goal? To ensure your child is not just meeting milestones, but truly thriving in every domain.

What to Expect During the Appointment:

Comprehensive Developmental & Medical History - Dr. Joy will explore your child’s full background—prenatal and birth history, developmental milestones, nutrition, sleep habits, school performance, family dynamics, and social functioning. Parents are encouraged to bring forward any questions or concerns, no matter how small.

Holistic Developmental & Wellness Assessment - Your child will be gently observed and engaged through age-appropriate interaction to assess:

  • Communication and social skills

  • Cognitive strengths and learning style

  • Emotional self-regulation

  • Sensory processing, motor coordination and physical health

  • Adaptive functioning and independence

Standardized screening tools may be used to support the clinical picture.

Integrative, Whole-Child Approach: What makes this different? The consultation blends conventional pediatric expertise with a broader lens of child wellness:

  • Lifestyle review: nutrition, sleep, movement, screen time

  • Mental wellness: resilience, emotional regulation, and self-esteem

  • Tailored suggestions for enriching routines, activities, and habits

Personalized Guidance & Recommendations - Families receive a tailored care summary that may include:

  • Developmental insights and parenting guidance

  • Wellness & lifestyle recommendations

  • Optional referrals (e.g., OT, SLP, psychology)

  • Suggestions for future follow-up or monitoring, if appropriate.

Who Is This For?

The IPC is ideal for families who:

  • Want reassurance that their child is on a healthy developmental path

  • Seek expert insights on how to optimize their child’s emotional and mental wellness

  • Value a proactive, integrative approach to wellness rather than waiting for problems to arise (aka reactive care)

  • Are interested in lifestyle-based strategies that complement conventional care

Dr. Joy Eberhardt’s integrative approach is grounded in the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to flourish. Whether you’re looking for peace of mind or guidance on how to best support your child’s unique journey, this consultation provides a thoughtful, evidence-informed foundation for lifelong well-being.

Fee: $1500 This is a private, non-insured service and not covered by MSI. It is designed to complement (not replace) care from your child’s family doctor or pediatrician.  Payment is required at the time of service. A receipt will be provided, which may be eligible for reimbursement through a Health Spending Account or claimed as a medical expense on your income tax return.
